Our Jewish heritage day tours Barcelona starts at the heart of Ancient Barcelona. There we can find the Jewish District, founded by the Romans more than 2000 years ago. This district is known as ‘Call’, name given to all Jewries in the territory of Catalonia when it was part of the famous Kingdom of Aragon, back to the Middle Ages.
Our visit will take us to the past of this important Jewish Community that probably was already present in this area since the Romans arrival, even though we know about it since 1060. Narrow streets where we will discover the traces of a very flourishing community that had up to 4500 members in its best times.

- Placeta de Sant Iu. Here we will admire the courtyard of the Inquisition Main Quarters in Barcelona. We can still see the Coat of Arms of this famous institution, active till 1812 officially.
- We will also touch some gravestones taken from the Jewish cemetery of Montjuic that were used to build important buildings such the Palau del Lloctinent, nowadays hosting the Arxiu de la Corona d’Aragó.
